IIT-These three words have knocked out the breath of almost half a million students across this country(parents and family members excluded). Approximately 50 students compete for one seat in JEE. You clear your 10th exams(no longer boards, thanks to the ministry) and the first question that haunts you, "Am I good enough to crack JEE?Should I take science at all?Is it already too late to start preparing?"
Trust me,you are as good as any one else. Don't worry if you have seen a few of your friends joining coaching in 9thstandard itself (sometimes even from 6th standard). You can take my word, that"s not going to make a damned difference. 11th is the optimum time to put your JEE preparation into gear. I have got only three words for those who want to succeed-work,work and work. There is no point dreaming of this institute without sweating. You might be better of fancying a date with Emma Watson.
Thomas Edison defined genius as "one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration". Inspiration is abundant in the atmosphere around you. Perspiration is what you require.IITianshave nothing special except for their "never say die"altitude. Don't waste your brain cells looking for short cuts. If you want to reach these hallowed portals, give in all you have.
One another misconception that students often cultivate is the "number of study hours". Your study hours are least significant factors that determines your success. Sitting with books all day does not guarantee you a stupendous result. Don't go about asking others how many hours should you study. Its for you to anticipate your potential and and decide your working hours. You are the best judge of capabilities and most importantly it's your future at stake. So no point asking others to make decisions for you.
So buck up. Trust your self. And give it your best shot. As Shahrukh said(actually Paul Coelho in 'The Alchemist')"....kehtehai agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho toh poori kaynath tumhein usse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai...".
Trust me being here is totally worth the effort
